Birger Carlstedt (1907–1975) Kultainen kissa – Chat Doré (the golden cat) was the pearl of Amos Rex’s autumn 2019 exhibitions. Carlstedt was a trailblazer of Finnish modernism, a pioneer of abstract art who was also a designer, interior designer and scenographer. His world was filled with colour.

The exhibition graphics were designed to be classical and easily readable alongside the bright colours. The visual identity is primarily yellow, gold and black.

The exhibition architect was Taina Väisänen / Neo Ark.

Birger Carlsted drew the graphic cat used as the visual identity’s emblem for the Chat Doré café.
